Upon an invitation from the Chinese Government, His Excellency Ahmad Al Sayed, Minister of the State of Qatar and Chairman of QFZA, led a delegation from Qatar Free Zones Authority(QFZA) and participated to the China International Import Expo(CIIE) which held in Shanghai during the period of 5-8 November, 2019.

As part of the visit, the delegation attended one of the most important forums under the CIIE: Hongqiao International Economic Forum which covered serial topics including free trade, e-commerce and the development of artificial intelligence and technological progress.

On the sidelines of CIIE, QFZA signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Lin-Gang Special Area of Shanghai Free Trade Zone.

The Minister of the State of Qatar and the delegation accompanied by H.E. Mohammed Bin Abdullah Al Dehaimi, Ambassador of the State of Qatar to the People’s Republic of China, met with H.E. Chen Yin, Executive Deputy Mayor of Shanghai Municipal Party Committee, and a wide range of leading Chinese technology companies in fields of artificial intelligence and internet of things(IoT) to help build smart cities.
